OUR CHURCH

 

The Pilgrim Baptist Church was established in November of 1891.  As of today there is still some unfounded information as to where the first services were held, some say a old school house was given to the congregation by the Native Americans who used to own the land. The place where Pilgrim Baptist Church is located today was known as known as Oil Springs, OK.  Pilgrim Baptist Church was started under the name of Oil Springs Baptist Church in 1891 by five sisters. Pilgrim has called 10 pastors over these past 127 years.  Our current pastor, E.A. Copeland Jr. was called on October 1, 2014.  Pastor Copeland's motto is found in Matthew 16:18b, "On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. "
